Community priorities,
clearly and honestly shared.

Our website distinguishes programs that are active, returning, in development, and seeking funding. Transparency protects trust while inviting the right partners to help bring each vision to life.

Our story

A journey rooted in love, justice, and community.

UGTS began in 2012 with advocacy for children with special needs and families navigating systems that were not designed around their realities.

Founded by Debra Abraham and her son, the work has grown into a broader commitment to children, youth, women, seniors, Indigenous peoples, Black communities, newcomers, and families affected by systemic exclusion, poverty, violence, housing instability, disability, and food insecurity.

We create programs and partnerships grounded in compassion, cultural humility, trauma-informed practice, lived experience, and the belief that people should not have to lose their dignity to receive support.

What holds us

Our six pillars

Unique Get Together Society
01

Love

We meet people with compassion, dignity, and care that does not require them to perform for support.

02

Change

We challenge harmful systems and build practical pathways toward lasting transformation.

03

Community

We create solutions with people, honouring relationships, culture, and collective wisdom.

04

Healing

We make room for safety, truth, recovery, and the many ways people return to wholeness.

05

Service

We respond with humility, accountability, and a commitment to meet real community needs.

06

Independence

We support people to strengthen choice, confidence, stability, and self-determined futures.

A connected continuum

Housing is more than a roof.

Safety, relationships, structure, cultural connection, and a pathway forward allow housing to become a foundation for change.
